Profile
Emily joined Taylor David in 2020 and works closely with Scott Taylor across the firm’s restructuring, insolvency and transactional work. She combines a legal and accounting background, which she brings to matters where the numbers drive the outcome: solvency questions, voidable transaction and insolvent trading claims, and the value and priority of security in a distressed sale.
She acts for liquidators and bankruptcy trustees in recovery proceedings, from the first assessment of a claim through to settlement or judgment. She advises directors and companies under financial pressure on their options, including voluntary administration, and the personal exposure that can follow. On the transactional side, she advises buyers and investors on acquisitions, including acquiring assets out of an insolvency process, where the security position, timing and creditor dynamics must be worked through quickly.
Her experience is multi-jurisdictional. She advises on cross-border transactions from deal origination through to completion, and has worked across the mining, resources, energy, manufacturing and construction sectors.
